Former Deputy Speaker recalls call for snap elections
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former deputy speaker Qasim Suri slammed on Wednesday the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), claiming the rulers had managed to get rid of their corruption cases.
Speaking to the media, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) stalwart, like other PTI leaders, recalled the demand for snap elections to get the country out of its quagmire.
Mr Suri, lamenting the economic situation, expressed concern that an additional tax would be imposed by agreeing to the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) conditions.
He claimed no incident of terrorism occurred in the PTI’s tenure, adding more than 100 people embraced martyrdom in Peshawar incident.
Recounting his contribution to his constituency, Mr Suri said he built a university and hospital.
